Welcome to Amani Bakery — where every bite tells a story of love, legacy, and purpose.

Amani means “dream” in Arabic — and this bakery is exactly that. A dream born from childhood memories, shaped by generations of recipes, and inspired by the woman who taught me everything: my mom. She wasn’t just my kindergarten teacher — she was my life teacher, my guiding light, and the heart behind everything I create.

My mom taught me how to dream big, and my dad taught me how to never give up. He never let me lose my passion, even in the hardest moments. With his business sense and unshakable belief in me, and my mom’s love and creativity, I had everything I needed to bring this bakery to life.

Growing up, our kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of something fresh from the oven—a blend of my Lebanese and German heritage brought to life through handwritten and passed-down recipes, well-loved cookbooks, and endless hours spent baking. Those moments turned into memories, and those memories unknowingly laid the foundation for Amani Bakery.

My baking journey has been completely self-taught — if not taught by my mom. From her, I learned the basics of flavor and feel. The rest came from years of trial and error, especially in the world of keto and gluten-free desserts. I’ve always loved the challenge of making healthier alternatives that don’t compromise on flavor. At the same time, I’ve mastered the art of full-sugar, classic desserts that celebrate indulgence. Whether it’s a low-carb twist or a buttery, old-school favorite, I believe every treat should taste like a little bit of magic.

For years, I dreamed of opening my own bakery next to the hardware store in Altadena. But in January 2025, that specific dream — along with my childhood home of 29 years — were both lost in the devastating Altadena wildfire in California. Now that the cookbooks and handwritten recipes are just a distant memory, I bake from the heart, guided by instinct, nostalgia, and the flavors that shaped my childhood.

Amani is my fresh start — a way to honor my roots and the people who made me who I am today. We bake with passion, care, tradition, a little nostalgia, and a full heart- one treat at a time.
